Gerald Ranson
My mother and father came to the US from England in 1962 to start an adventure together. Maria and Gerald started a family, each developing outstanding carreers. My mother raised two energetic boys (to say the least), went back to school and became a respected psychologist. My father's career had moments of greatness. An Art Director working at Wells Rich Greene when the agency was the pre-eminent advertising agency worldwide, he worked on such accounts as Braniff, Alka-Seltzer, TWA, Hardees and Chef Boyardee. He was instrumental in the creation of the I Love NY campaign. He later went on to direct the first multi-screen video wall for SONY and even worked with Mummenschanz. Retired now, he works in his painting studio in the sublime foothills of the Berkshire Mountains in upstate New York.
Here are some fun images from those creative days.
